Club Events:
Annual Fall Chili Bowl Fundraiser: 1000 bowls are thrown by the Clay Club students for this major fundraiser. If you plan on attending this annual event, arrive on time or early, or you may be out of luck. Each bowl is an individual work of art. Visitors choose a bowl and the club fills it with delicious home made chili, for a total donation of $5.
Earth Week Chalk Walk: Every April, during Earth Week, the Art Club sponsors this chalk painting festival. Participants sign up for a square, design an image, and paint the image using non-toxic chalk onto the square. Three days later, all of the squares are judged by a jury of Art Professors and prizes are awarded to the first, second and third place artists. All images must adhere to an Earth Week theme, including pollution, forestry, global warming, acid rain, alternative fuel source, etc.
Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser: Bowls are thrown by the Clay Club participants and sold loaded with ice cream. The 2008 event is planned for May 8th between 11-2 . . . but only while supplies last. Call to confirm location and times. Contact John Hopkins at 951-222-8273 for more information.
Bus Trips: The Art Club sponsors bus trips to museums and art schools whenever possible. Fall and Spring offerings are hopeful. A portion of the trip is paid out of club funds so students can more easily manage the costs involved in visiting art at other locations.
