Welcome to Soil Online! This project serves to develop online curriculum in soil science facilitating qualification of a diverse body of students for Federal employment, as well as current employees within the USDA. 13 outstanding students who complete an online course will be offered a 1-week paid internship ($1000 stipend) with a USDA agency to provide them an experiential learning opportunity and formal mentoring.

We are currently looking for volunteers from USDA to be the hosts of this internship program. All interns will be paid for by this project, so there will be no cost to the internship hosts. The 1-week training and mentoring provided by the hosts will help the students succeed in soil related fileds and advance them into careers in soil science. The internship is also a great opportunity for the hosts to meet and to recruit potential employees.
